What is Acupuncture?

It's a safe, natural, drug-free treatment used by millions of people to release toxins from the body through the natural cleansing lymphatic channels.

acupuncture-needlesAcupuncture works by inserting extremely small needles into specific parts of the body to help alleviate pain, swelling, tension and more as well as releases a natural flow of energy called Qi. Each needle is specifically placed for different ailments and can help with headaches, asthma, allergies, stress, depression, anxiety, and so much more. Acupuncture has also proven to help alleviate severe nausea during pregnancy and chemotherapy.

Acupuncture needles are extremely small. On average they are .25 mm, compared to a common sewing needle which is 1.02 mm. Those who have received acupuncture therapy have said either they do not feel the needles at all or it feels like a light scratching sensation.

Acupuncture was developed in China hundreds of years ago. This therapy uses the Meridian scale; branches of the body that connect to vital organs and lymphatic systems. Acupuncture needles are placed in their Meridian location to create an internal communication within the body’s Qi (a body’s natural energy), creating harmony and fluidity, releasing toxins from the body through the natural cleansing lymphatic channels.

"I am terrified of needles, but I still want the benefits from Acupuncture, is this possible?"
Fear of needles is very common. But there are other alternatives to needle acupuncture.

Pointer Pulse Our goal at ASFCA is not create more pain or fear, but comfort and relaxation. We offer needle free acupuncture utilizing a Pointer Pulse. A Pointer Pulse is a hand held device that delivers a low electric stimulation to emulate acupuncture by stimulating specific points of therapy.

Pointer Pulse Ear ExamSimilar to a T.E.N.S. unit (Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation); Pointer Pulse Wrist Examwhich creates small electronic pulse that communicates with muscles on a larger scale, a Pointer Pulse is able to get the same reaction from a localized point with more control while still receiving acupuncture relief without the use of needles. And just like Acupuncture, the Pointer Pulse can be used anywhere an acupuncture needle would be placed. Patients who have received Pointer Pulse therapy say it feels like a small tingle, but no pain.
